At Spardha Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA), we imagine a bold new future where Bangladesh pulses at the heart of the global performance arts scene.
Emerging out of the potent legacy of the indigenous theater of Bangladesh and the modern Group Theatre movement, SAPA is here to spark a creative revolution—one that transforms intuitive, self-taught artistry into world-class, professionally honed expression. We’re building a space where actors, directors and designers are not just trained, but ignited—to push boundaries, experiment fearlessly, and shape new narratives in the theatre and the media.
Our mission is clear: to turn Bangladesh into a vibrant stage for innovation, collaboration, and cultural excellence in the performing arts.

SAPA exists to ignite a new era of performance in Bangladesh—bold, boundary-pushing, and globally connected.
We are driven to cultivate a new generation of performers, directors, and designers in the theatre and the media who are:

GOALS

At SAPA, we are shaping the future of performance—locally rooted, globally inspired, and unapologetically bold.
  1. Train the Next Generation of Global Artistes
    We offer focused, high-impact training in three transformative streams: Acting, Direction, and Scenography in the Theatre and the Media—empowering performers and creators to thrive on both national and international stages.
  2. Bridge Theatre and Media
    Our Acting Direction and Scenography disciplines serve both theatre and media platforms, equipping student-artistes with versatile tools for performance. All the three disciplines are deeply focused on stage and media practice, where innovation and critical vision are central. 
  3. Lead with Critical Praxis
    Inspired by Paulo Freire’s concept of praxis—“reflection and action directed at the structures to be transformed”—our training challenges students to become not only skilled performers but also cultural disruptors, capable of reimagining the systems they work within.
  4. Design for Real-Life Impact
    Our flexible course durations—from 3 to 12 months—allow for immersive learning at every level, whether you’re a rising talent or an established artist expanding your craft.
  5. Open Doors for All Artists
    We build access without compromise. Shorter, intensive programs support emerging artistes managing full-time work. Extended, in-depth tracks empower working professionals to reinvest in their artistic identity without pausing their livelihood.
