Spardha: Independent Theatre Collective offers short-termed practice-based workshops underpinned by in well-known acting methods. These workshops cater to the practical requirements of the actors in the theater, film and media. The central focus is on Konstantin Stanislavski’s system, along with elements drawn from Vsevolod Meyerhold’s physical training, Michael Chekhov’s physical-psychological exercises, Tadashi Suzuki’s ‘grammar of the feet,’ and Anne Bogart & Tina Landau’s Viewpoints exercises. Spardha ITC also offers workshops devoted entirely to voice and speech. The objective of these workshops is to develop the actors’ artistry on acting, scenic presence and performative articulations. After completing workshops, the actors have the chance to participate in disciplined rehearsals and perform in Spardha: ITC’s new productions in the presence of live spectators.
